Issue Synopsis[]
Demitri and Morrigan are battling, with Demitri saying that killing her and telling her father would make his return to Makai more satisfying and that the portal will open soon. Their battle is interrupted by Pyron, surrounded by his Huitzil units. He introduces himself as a god to them and wishes to fight them. Demitri and Morrigan are initially dismissive of him, but upon seeing him absorb Demitri’s Chaos Flare harmlessly, decide to temporarily join forces to defeat Pyron.
After a short battle, Pyron grounds Demitri and Morrigan, dissatisfied. Before he begins to consume them and the planet, Donovan arrives accompanied by Anita. Pyron sends his Huitzil units at them, and Donovan destroys them all, intriguing Pyron. Donovan attacks Pyron, but his attacks pass through him. A short battle ensues where Pyron overwhelms Donovan. As he throttles him, Pyron states that Donovan should be happy he had seen his power before his death.
Anita, watching this, drops her doll and shouts Donovan’s name, creating a purple shock wave that destroys the portal and denudes Pyron of his power. As Pyron is bewildered by how a child could overcome a god, Demitri appears behind him and bites his neck, draining him of his remaining power. As Pyron’s body collapses into dust, Demitri revels at his increased strength.
Morrigan reveals to him that his portal is destroyed and that he will only enjoy his new power in the human world. As Morrigan creates and goes through her own portal to Makai, Demitri pursues her, but fails to catch her in time. While Demitri rages, Anita tells Donovan that she cannot destroy Demitri, but if he freezes him, she can deal with him. Donovan does as she asks, encasing Demitri and his castle in a block of ice. Anita casts them both into space.
Donovan becomes astonished to see that Anita is crying, which she says is because she was afraid of losing him. Donovan says that he will eventually have to face his demons alone, but not now. He will remain with her as long as she wishes, to which Anita is grateful.
In Makai, Morrigan, Lucien, Mudo and Belial are watching Donovan and Anita depart, with Belial satisfied that Demitri will not trouble Makai or the human world. Belial tells Morrigan her time to rule has come. He tells Lucien and Mudo to make her whole and bides farewell to Morrigan, knowing that she will rule well. Morrigan pulls back the curtain and finds Belial’s throne empty. Later, Lucien and Mudo are leading Morrigan to a cellar she didn’t know existed. Inside a vault, Lucien unlocks a chest, but when Morrigan opens it, it is empty.
Watching the Aensland Castle from a distance, Jedah Dohma tells Lilith that a new era has begun. Lilith replies that she can’t wait to play. Jedah’s plan leads to the events of Street Fighter VS. Darkstalkers.
